The history of Servant’s Heart is found within the hearts of a few men from the North Jersey area with their gifts in construction and their hearts to help the poor. They decided to group together weekly and seek out opportunities to serve others with their hands and hearts. They devoted Saturdays to volunteering as an act of worship to our Savior. This desire started 30 years ago and has slowly turned into more than just a few men. We believe that the gift of service is the spiritual gift that God gives the most and that His people would serve if someone could organize it and make it available to them. Within the last 5 years we have had well over 300 different volunteers with a larger degree of construction backgrounds and skills to help us construct houses, homeless shelter, relief organization’s headquarters, gymnasiums, churches, and rehabilitation centers. All these are among some of the projects that we have constructed to be part in the furtherance of the kingdom of God. Within the last 3 years we have moved from working independently as a 501C3 to rather becoming under the leadership of Cornerstone Christian Church. This move has been very exciting for all of our members as we feel right at home working through the local church. The goal of Servant’s Heart is and will continue to be to bring joy to its workers’ hearts by being faithful to God’s calling in their lives, to be a blessing in our communities as a testimony to God, and to assist the Church in her ministry of service at large.
