In the Late 1980’s
A few like-minded servants started meeting weekly with a unified burden: to help the poor in their city. Week after week they sought opportunities to put their faith into action, helping those with the work of their hands.
14 Years Later
What started as a simple mission caught on like wildfire and the name, Servant’s Heart, was born. Weeks turned into years, and a few volunteers turned into dozens.
2000-2005, JUAREZ, MEXICO
Servant’s Heart volunteers partnered with Touch The World on 6 mission trips to Juarez, Mexico to build a school, orphanage, warehouse, and housing for Life Challenge International.
2005, NEW ORLEANS
After Hurricane Katrina touched down in New Orleans, a group of Servant’s Heart volunteers flew down to help rebuild the city. That’s when we were first introduced to Pastor Mel of Bethel Colony South Transformation Ministries. Our team has been flying down to support Pastor Mel’s incredible ministry every year since.
Servant’s Heart Ministry received its non-profit status as a 501(c)(3) organization, renovating houses, homeless shelters, gymnasiums, churches, rehabilitation centers and relief organizations’ headquarters, with a growing number of volunteers.
Hesed House was launched as a new way for Servant’s heart to empower leaders in the community, as we come alongside young women working full-time in ministry to help them fulfill their role in serving a world in need.
The Workmanship training and mentorship program kicked off its pilot course with 9 passionate instructors and 12 motivated students. The program’s off to a great start and we’re looking forward to continuing to build up the next generation of trades professionals.
